Buffer - definition

Buffer is one of the most used tasks when talking about storing any files or streaming any media content from the internet. In computer, it takes place in RAM (Random Access Memory). For example: If you’re streaming something from the internet then a certain portion of the entire file (i.e.: could be 10%, 20%, or depends on the internet speed) is stored in the RAM so that the user doesn’t have to wait even if the internet speed goes down sometimes.

We often see this phenomenon, while watching a video on the internet and if the network becomes so slow, right at that moment a loading screen appears saying “Buffering”. That means it is trying to connect to the server and load the buffer data to resume the content again
