PPI - definition
The full form of PPI is Pixel per Inch which is pixel density in a display panel or image digitizing device such as a camera sensor. PPI is considered as the more important parameter in display than display size or resolution, because the smoothness of a picture or frame depends on the PPI, if it is lower than the picture sharpness gets affected and harsh lines are seen around the corner of any object or picture. i.e.: iPhone 13 Pro Max (~458 ppi) can provide a better viewing experience than iPhone 3G (~165 ppi).
PPI is also written as PPC which stands for Pixel per Centimeter. Don’t get confused with resolution and PPI; they are two different parameters to define the different specifications.
The formula for PPI is = Number of pixel / Size in inches.
