In electronic device or specifically in mobile devices this term is used when a device become more shock proof or harder in outer shell in order to survive from major falls or damages. Mostly, this devices are designed so that the devoice doesn’t get damage even it falls from a certain distance or in very rough use scenario. There are many brands in the phone manufacturing industry that produced rugged or ruggedized phones or ruggedized smart phone.
